B Is For Belle and Sebastian

Show Notes

*Originally released May 14th 2014*

This episode, Doug and Steve tackle the massive international act Belle and Sebastian! It\'s not a story of a boy and his dog, it\'s the story of some musicians from Scotland rocking out hard! The guys also chat about file sharing, how to classify genres, and scoring indie films. HELLO GLASGOW!!

Music featured this week:

White Collar Boy - The Life Pursuit

Electronic Renaissance - Tiger Milk

Seeing Other People - If You\'re Feeling Sinister

3:34 - For the record, The Proclaimers are from Edinburgh, Scotland

7:20 - Mispronouncing names has become a trademark and curse of ours. We approach it with self-recognition and laughter, but it once really fired up a few Queen City Kids fans to a nasty conclusion. Check out our episode R Is For Remy Shand for that story!

12:30 - Don\'t bother looking for Sour Grapes Winery anymore, the site went down a few years back. BUT you can find Doug\'s list of 100 Favourite Songs here down at the bottom of the page!

14:21 - Eagle-eared listeners should remember this ditty, as it\'s the unofficial theme tune for Our Friend Travis, who we owe a great debt to for introducing us to a lot of music. You\'ll hear this a lot in the show.

17:40 - Storytelling on IMDb

28:44 - And we DID get to Radiohead, with special host Daniel Ferguson! Check out our episode R Is For Radiohead

31:53 - Who doesn\'t love a story about a boy and his dog? A French boy and his French dog, oui? Here\'s an article on Belle et Sébastien

31:58 - And here\'s the anime series from the 80\'s

32:03 - And here\'s the film we somehow didn\'t hear about

32:18 - AND here\'s the television series from the 60\'s

35:32 - We did wind up doing a Canadian run, and it was the very next season!
