Our Five Most Hated Songs

Show Notes

*Originally released July 1st 2015*

This week, Steve and Doug are joined by guest cohosts Nathan Ferguson and Our Friend Travis Mendgen to list off their five most hated songs. They also take the time to talk about ukuleles, boring music videos, and WHAT IS WITH THE BANANAS?!?

Music featured this week:

Wrecking Ball (DJ Detweiler remix) by Ciley Myrus

8:45 - Okay music fans, here are the videos for Marianas Trench's "Pop Music 101" and Matthew Good Band's "Anti-pop"

19:52 - For more of our thoughts on Queen, check out our episode Q Is For Queen

21:11 - Here's her interview with Jimmy Fallon that Nate was referring to

33:08 - Todd In The Shadows did indeed cover "Who Let The Dogs Out" on his show One Hit Wonderland. Doug missed what Steve was alluding to, and is referenced in that episode: the original song was by Anslem Douglas, and was indeed on All Stars 2000

49:53 - Is this the best thing on YouTube? You be the judge and look at this graph

1:03:20 - No, it's definitely Spears doing the faux Brit accent in the song, which baffled some critics (including Steve)

1:04:51 - No joke! will.i.am curiously didn't ask for permission to sample (heavily) from Daft Punk, and produced a song / video that is arguably his best work, especially when compared to the fairly boring original version. Just ask permission dude (see below video)

1:27:58 - I'm pretty sure Doug is talking about Soulja Boy: The Movie

1:29:20 - Here's "Turn My Swag On" by Soulja Boy Tell'em. It is, admittedly, hilarious

1:33:25 - "My name is Katy, but you can call me the Penguin of Doom."

Steve's Picks:

A Milli - Lil Wayne

The Unicorn Song - The Irish Rovers

Turn The Lights On - Big Sugar

Scream & Shout - will.i.am ft Britney Spears

You're In My Heart (The Final Acclaim) - Rod Stewart

Doug's Picks:

Bicycle Race - Queen

Who Let The Dogs Out - Baha Men
