P Is For POGO
*Originally released January 8th 2016*
Steve and Doug ring in 2016 with a long-time favorite act of theirs: plunderphonics mix-master Pogo. It's a trip down nostalgia lane, and also a discussion on what makes a musician.
Music featured this week:
Alice - Wonderland [EP]
Bangarang - Bangarang [single]
Jumpy Jives - Jumpy Jives [single]
Wizard Of Meh - Wizard Of Meh [single]
2:22 - Whenever Steve thinks of Motorhead, he always comes back to their curious performance on the BBC sitcom "The Young Ones"
8:55 - We have some pretty mixed feelings about Digitalism, but there's no denying how awesome a song "Pogo" is
10:00 - Yeah, it's pretty cheesy but it's hard to stop watching swedemason's "Jungle All The Way"
12:01 - Oh it's not even a book; it's an essay you can read online! Plunderphonics, or Audio Piracy as a Compositional Prerogative by John Oswald
15:11 - A pretty basic software, but you can do some interesting things with Music 2000 on Playstation. Take a look at the interface and what you can do here
18:50 - Skye Tronn's YouTube channel has since been deleted. Pogo has some of his stuff on his own YouTube channel, but other stuff is spread out on various channels. Happy hunting!
23:01 - CGP Grey does a great video explaining the history and spirit of copyright law
26:44 - Unless it's Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law

33:30 - Okay we were a bit off base... "Under A Spell" samples from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
50:03 - No joke! We do actually have that episode and you should check it out: E Is For Empire Of The Sun!
51:02 - Here's the video for POGO's "Walking On A Dream" car edit
