Y Is For Yeasayer
*Originally released November 13th 2014*
Steve and Doug take a look into Brooklyn-based experimental, alternative band Yeasayer! The brothers also spend some time talking about experimental yet organic album production, deeply disturbing music videos, and why music festivals are worth going to.
Music featured this week:
Wait For The Summer - All Our Cymbals
Blue Paper - Fragrant World
O.N.E. - Odd Blood
2080 - All Hour Cymbals
1:35 - Spreading the love one more time: here's Time Columns' Twitter and Bandcamp pages
3:30 - Here's the bands and artists Steve gave shout outs to: War Poets, Dee Kaph, Robots With Rayguns, Femke Weidema, Kelsey Mathews, Quincy Pictures (yes I know this is a film producer), Lindsay Mac, Bravo. Anyone not linked here either doesn't exist anymore or I can't find them.
17:23 - Follow Doug's recommendation and pick up the "Dark Was The Night" compilation!
21:18 - Here's the demo version of "O.N.E." and as you can tell, it's more in line with the music from All Hour Cymbals than Odd Blood. But still groovy
27:00 - Here's that touching and kind of disgusting video for "Madder Red".... I love you Kristen Bell
39:27 - I couldn't find those songs anymore :(
46:17 - Here's the entry of Doug's 100 Favourite Songs that includes "2080"
49:29 - And here's the fan-made video for "2080" Doug was talking about
