Y Is For Yellow Ostrich
*Originally released June 14th 2016*
This episode, Steve and Doug chat about Yellow Ostrich, the five year voyage of Alex Schaaf and his glorious beard. The dudes also gab about tempo changes, clever cover art, and splitting your music between platforms.
Music featured this week:
Marathon Runner - Strange Land
Shades - Cosmos
Hahahaohhoho - The Mistress
WHALE - The Mistress
1:39 - Steve's got Gordon Lightfoot on the brain, but "Leaving On A Jet Plane" was actually by John Denver (and famously covered by Peter, Paul and Mary)
3:10 - Why not find out? Our Five Most Hated Songs!
21:35 - This is "Window Bird" from In Our Bedroom After The War by Stars
32:43 - Truth time.... Steve had completely forgotten about this song until remastering this episode. What a nice rediscovery! "Headbanging In The Mirror" by Ducktails
46:50 - This still holds true; Yellow Ostrich hasn't done anything further from Cosmos
Doug's Recommendations:
Young Love - The Serious Kids [EP]
Hahahaohhoho - The Mistress
Any Wonder - Cosmos
Steve's Recommendations:
Seven - Yellow Ostrich
Shades - Cosmos
