*Originally released May 26th 2014* Steve and Doug tackle multi-instrumentalist act Charlene Kaye in this episode. The guys muse on fan-backed albums, arachnids versus insects, and the Glee phenomenon. For those who love Glee...we apologize. Music featured this week: Animal Love I - Animal Love Skin and Bones - Things I Will Need In The Past Mad Tom of Bedlam - Charlene Kaye & The Brilliant Eyes [EP]
2:02 - Sweet irony! A few years after this was released, Charlene Kaye began to simply go as KAYE for her music career. 15:05 - This won't be the last time Steve mentions XFM. XFM was "The New Rock Alternative" radio station that wasn't afraid to step into experimental and heavier music that the established rock and pop stations wouldn't generally touch. They were ultimately killed by what made them so special: they really limited how many ads they ran. It was great to actually find a station that played mostly music...but it's probably why they couldn't afford to continue. Steve credits this station with his discovery of a lot of 90's underground and alternative music. 16:41 - The song is "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz. Charlene's cover appears to have been taken down. 18:56 - Sour Grapes Winery has since shut down, but you CAN read Doug's review here. 23:42 - Steve was thinking of Matthew Morrison. 28:19 - You can watch our video "Just Another Night" Part 1 here and Part 2 here! Boring or hilarious? You decide! 35:45 - What a crazy episode that wound up being... check it out, X Is For Xiu Xiu!
